Jimmy Kennedy, World War 1

,

Brian's comments:

My Aunt Jean Kennedy MacDonald gave me these photos when I visited her in Drumchapel in 1970.

My grandpa Jimmy served with the Argylls in WWI. He and his wife Marie Oliver immigrated to Canada and then the States in the twenties. They were from Bridgend.

Argyll Volunteers

Brian's comments:

Jimmy is standing in the long middle row, fifth from the left. (The guy in the middle has his hand on Jimmy's right shoulder). Thomas Kennedy (Uncle Tam) is second from the left in the top row just above Jimmy and the chap in the white mess coat.

Both survived the war, but a lot of these lads were lost at the Somme according to my Grandfather.

Note: Tam and Jimmy appear in the first family photo as well, standing astride their parents.
