Anne's comments: Above: Archie Findlay, retired Dumbarton Police sergeant, poses in full regalia of red coat and silk top hat as one of two halberdiers who escorted the Dumbarton Council in the annual "Kirkin' o' the Cooncil." He said he was paid a shilling and a wee dram. Below: Two tickets found recently in an old wallet I had when I came to the States in the Sixties. The pink one was a return ticket to Glasgow. |
